a multidisciplinary artist who mainly works with textile, embroidery and storytelling with a focus on participatory practices

Lisa's aesthetics can be described by the slogan "Personal is political." Sewing and embroidery are home activities, and textiles themselves are associated with an intimate family space. But the artist combines these techniques with a political agenda, as if illustrating the thesis that any private life is inextricably linked with public life. She is encouraged by how embroidery from a purely domestic female practice, transformed into a protest one, how it’s used to attract attention to social issues.

Like many artists who are passionate about equality and solidarity, she is into participatory art: needlework in her projects often acts as a collective practice. She is interested in doing research, interacting with people and based her projects on storytelling. She likes the therapeutic nature of sewing, getting together with people and do something without setting the goal of a conversation, which nevertheless starts by itself through action, collaboration, co-existence and sense of belonging.
